Fred Pruitt, a Christian spirituality writer speaks about having a heart that above all, seeks to love. Loving is not about being religious, or about being churchy, but simply about being human. God didn’t come to earth just to invite us to meet Him once a week in a building, but to show us that through the Son we are His living building everywhere we are. That means that God has filled up our humanity with Himself, so that our regular human lives, whether spent in traffic, shopping at the mall, at the work-place or home at night with the family, is where God is, where Life is, where the AIncarnation@ is. Instead of God expecting us to work and work to somehow become Divine or Christ-like He has come to us exactly where we are, as we are, to live in us so that His Divinity may be seen through the commonness of our humanity - in our Ahearts of flesh.
John Bunting, son of a doctor, became a surgeon and practiced for thirty years in Louisville, Ky. Before being called by God in 1995 to give his practice away and go to Africa in order to take Paul’s mystery of Christ in and as you (Col.1:26-28 & Gal.2:20), first to the Africans and now to the whole body of Christ. Saved as a teen, John was on fire for the Lord telling everyone he met about Jesus, but that fire soon burned dim as he found himself mired in trying to live the Christian life. In 2005 God revealed to him, in a life-changing way, that he is dead and risen and Christ is living in and as him. The fire of the Lord burns bright in John again - bringing the freedom for which Christ Jesus died to failing Christians. John teaches bible studies and travels throughout the world as the Spirit opens doors to explain the ways of God more perfectly.
Harry Boyd Williams. Ordained in 1956, served six years as pastor of fast-growing church in San Diego, California and worked for many years with Billy Graham. “When this work began, my passionate conviction was to seek consortium with the Lord’s people everywhere. To work together. To strengthen others. To be available for whatever the most menial task in the kingdom. For you see in Him, being on a pinnacle of public acclaim or on a plateau of obscurity with “nobodies” in a for-off land, is exactly the same. What I’m talking about in the dynamic of the whole Church in the world. His body, yet consisting of individuals - you and me - and others in every land. Responding to need. Changing the world. “You are important as you!!! Yet, it is He!!!… This is the mystery of the Gospel …. Love inevitably saying yes to personal hurts…through people. He in us as blessed Redeemer. He as us to be Redemptive … Thank God for needs !!!
